Leading UK spinner Ruth Gough took a master class on spinning, plying and carding at the Ashford Craft Shop on Friday 18th of February.

With over forty years’ experience – including a recent world record  for spinning – Ruth generously showed 14 students some of her techniques, tips and tricks.

Ruth and her husband Alan are Ashford dealers and their business Wingham Wool Works in Wentworth, Yorkshire, is one of the largest suppliers in the UK of spinning, weaving, and felting equipment. They offer workshops and residential courses in fibre, spinning and felt making with accommodation in their historic stone cottages in nearby Elsecar Village.
