Creative Fibre Festival, 10-13 April 2025, Christchurch, New Zealand.
Creative Fibre is the New Zealand organisation that brings together people with a passion for fibre crafts and textile arts. Spinners, weavers, knitters, dyers, flax workers, felters, crocheters and other makers – from home crafter to professional artist – all are welcome to join and experience the joy of working with fibre.
Every second year Creative Fibre hosts a national festival, in differing locations, that includes their national exhibition and fashion show, workshops and, of course, the popular Trades Hall.
Libby and Nicola on the Ashford stand were very busy and enjoyed meeting customers and demonstrating the new products.

Elizabeth Ashford had the honour of judging the national exhibition and selecting the award winners with Jenny Gillies and Diane Sullivan. From left Jenny, Elizabeth, Diane, with Jill Gunn’s Wildflower that won the Creative Fibre Award of $2000 and, on the table, Guardian of Isel made by Julie Scoggins that won the Kane Carding Award. We were delighted to announce the Ashford award winners:
